Description
Varieties
Garnacha Blanca (White Grenache) (100%)
Terroir
The grapes for AmbPells originated in the Trufes vineyards north of Batea. Rich with limestone fragments and with very limited organic content, these soils encourage an austere mineral backbone to temper the natural exuberance of the Garnacha Blanca grape.
Production
The grapes were chilled overnight and then destemmed and crushed. They were fermented on their skins in a conical concrete tank where they underwent a natural fermentation with no added yeasts. After 50 days the must was pressed and the wine was matured on its lees in a 1500L oak foudre for six months, before being bottled unfiltered. Minimal sulphur was used at each stage. 2,030 bottles made.

Tasting Notes
Beguiling pale gold colour. Intense apricot marmalade, icing sugar and tangerine nose. The palate is much more serious, a dry wine with yellow plums and a hint of moscatel grapes with good mouthfeel and firm but unastringent finish. A great introduction to skin-contact whites.
Food Pairing
Perfect with grilled langostines, seafood paella, bouillabasse or goat’s cheese and spinach dishes.
Serving Suggestions
The wine is ideally served at 8-12°C and benefits from opening up to 24 hours in advance.
